A Night of Connection & Healing: Sound Bath + Breathwork in Kearny Mesa
Tonight’s Sound Bath + Breathwork experience at The Meditation Nook in Kearny Mesa was something special from the very beginning.
We opened our doors at 7 PM to a beautiful mix of familiar faces and new attendees, some of whom had never stepped into the studio before. There’s always something powerful about witnessing someone experience this kind of space for the first time. We welcomed them with a full tour, letting them take in the calming energy of the space before settling in.
The evening started gently with warm tea, water, and intentional conversation. Every detail was set: yoga beds, cozy blankets, supportive bolsters, and soft pillows, all designed to help each person fully relax and feel held.
One of the most unexpected and heartwarming moments? Reconnecting with someone I used to play Volo kickball with. Life has a way of bringing people back together in the most aligned ways, and it felt full circle to now share space in a completely different, more intentional environment.
Another highlight was connecting with a friend who runs America’s Finest Sound here in San Diego. He’s currently leading outreach efforts for the revitalization of the Starlight Theater in Balboa Park (Save Starlight), such an exciting project for our community. I had just attended their fundraiser at the Balboa Park Club this past Saturday, so continuing that conversation felt aligned and expansive.
We even discussed the possibility of recording some of my sound bowls for release on Insight Timer, something that could bring these healing frequencies to an even wider audience.
The session itself was deeply grounding. Through breathwork and sound, the room shifted into a space of stillness, release, and connection. You could feel it, the collective exhale, the reset.
And now I’m curious…
