Becoming a Reiki Master: Trusting Alignment, Signs From the Universe, and My Journey to Reiki Master

Today started off bright and early. I had my Reiki Master training.

I became Reiki I and Reiki II in 2025, and I've really taken this past year to fully integrate everything I learned before taking the next step. I did both Reiki I and II with Marcela, and I also completed my Reiki Master training with her. She runs Energy Works Healing in North County San Diego, and I can't recommend her enough if you've ever considered learning Reiki.

The Master training was held in Carlsbad in a beautiful space called Verdani Partners. It felt like a coworking space, it had a peaceful energy. I was up around 7am, getting ready, and it takes me about 30 minutes from my apartment to get to Carlsbad. I arrived around 8:15 am, and there were 12 of us in the class.

Having an even number is nice because you're constantly partnering up and practicing Reiki on one another throughout the day.

A Full Day of Learning Reiki

We learned new Reiki Master symbols, Reiki power grids, energetic psychic surgery, and the Hawaiian practice of Ho'oponopono, which centers around the phrases:

"I love you."
"I'm sorry."
"Please forgive me."
"Thank you."

That practice felt powerful.

We also learned Violet Breath, how to incorporate it into Reiki, and so many other techniques that come with becoming a Reiki Master.

One of Marcela's former students, who is now a Reiki Master himself, started the day by giving us a sound bath. He did a great job, and it was my second time receiving a sound bath this week so I felt very grateful!

The class ran from 8:30am until about 5:40pm, so it was a very full day.

Matcha, Carlsbad, and an Unexpected Gift

Of course, I had to get my matcha during lunch.

We had a really short lunch break, but luckily there was a place nearby I found. This was actually my first time spending much time in Carlsbad, and I loved it. The business district had so many cute restaurants, little shops, and places where people live. It was a gorgeous sunny San Diego day, and I met so many wonderful people throughout the Reiki Master training.

On my drive up, I was planning to continue listening to Magic Mind, but I got a Libby notification that a book I'd been waiting months for had finally become available.

It was Dr. Joe Dispenza's Becoming Supernatural.

You know I had to immediately check it out!!!

I'm only on Chapter 1, but I already know I'd love to attend one of his in-person retreats someday.

One Thought That Really Resonated

One thing he wrote about really stood out to me.

Dr. Joe talks a lot about science. He uses brain scans, research, and measurable evidence before and after his work. He's a doctor, so evidence matters to him.

But he also shared that for a long time he spent so much energy trying to convince skeptics.

Eventually, he let that go.

That resonated with me.

I don't care about convincing skeptics anymore.

I am the creator of my own reality and my own timeline.

I want to surround myself with people who are open to these experiences too. I don't feel the need to spend my energy trying to convince someone who has already decided they don't believe.

I've had experiences that I could never scientifically measure.

I've given tarot readings where people have cried because they felt so deeply seen.

I've witnessed profound transformations during sound baths, Yoga Nidra, guided meditations, and Reiki sessions.

None of us were hooked up to machines.

Sometimes the human experience is enough.

If you don't believe me, keep it moving.

That's honestly where I'm at.

Reiki Doesn't Need My Permission to Work

The interesting thing is that Reiki actually has scientific research behind it. I'll link to some Reiki studies below because I do think they're worth reading.

But even beyond the research...

It works.

Whether you believe it or not, it works.

I am incredibly honored to serve as a conduit for this healing energy, and I plan to continue using it for the highest good of everyone involved, including myself.

Reiki Circles Return This Fall

We took a little break from our monthly Reiki Circles at The Meditation Nook during the summer because so many people are traveling and on vacation.

We'll be starting them back up this fall.

They're about two hours long, and we come together to practice Reiki, do Reiki shares, talk about our experiences, and simply connect with one another.

Whether you're completely new to Reiki, recently attuned, or already a Reiki Master, you're welcome.

Community is one of my favorite parts of this work.

The Universe Sent Me Another Reminder

On my drive to the Reiki Master training, not only was I listening to Becoming Supernatural that became available at the perfect time, but I also started noticing number patterns.

I don't always see repeating numbers, but I feel like on energetically significant days they show up a little more often.

Today I saw 222 right before turning onto the road where the Reiki Master training was being held.

Later I noticed 12:12

As I'm literally writing this sentence, I looked up at the clock.

11:11

Okay... alignment.

Driving home I also noticed 555, 666, and 111.

Then I thought I saw another 555, but it was actually S55.

Does that count?

We'll call it a hard maybe.

The Peacock Story I'll Never Forget

When I first received my Reiki I attunement with Marcela last year, I was brand new to Reiki.

I'd attended a Yin class where she incorporated Reiki, and I'd read a little about it beforehand, but I went into the experience with an open mind.

Before the class, I quietly said to the Universe:

"If Reiki is real, show me my spirit animal."

My spirit animal is the peacock.

During lunch I walked through Marcela's beautiful garden and found several peacock feathers.

I remember thinking...

"Okay... that's interesting. But I asked for an actual peacock."

At the end of class, everyone received their Reiki I certificates.

As usual, my first name was spelled wrong.

It happens all the time because of the unique spelling, so I waited until everyone had left and politely mentioned it to Marcela.

She immediately said,

"Oh no! Let's fix that right now."

We walked into her house so she could print me a corrected certificate.

I hadn't been inside her home before.

The moment I walked into her office, I looked to my left...

...and there was the largest painting of a peacock I have ever seen.

It covered practically the entire wall.

Its feathers were completely expanded.

I just stood there staring.

Marcela finally asked,

"Are you okay?"

My jaw was literally on the floor.

I felt this overwhelming sense of knowing.

To me, that was my confirmation.

Never be afraid to ask the Universe for a sign.

Just stay open to however it arrives.

Another Peacock Today

When I got home that night, I noticed the stack of beautiful birthday cards my friends had given me back in June. I’d been cleaning and organizing my apartment all week, so I had recently gathered them together on the counter.

Sitting on top of the stack of cards was a birthday card with a peacock on it.

Then I looked to my left.

My best friend had given me a beautiful bell decorated with peacock feathers.

Both of them were sitting directly in my line of sight.

I smiled and simply said,

"Thank you, Universe."

Who knows?

The day isn't over yet.

I still might see another peacock.

You never know.

That's the funny thing about asking the Universe for signs.

You have to let go of how they'll show up.

Just stay open enough to receive them.

Sometimes they arrive in ways even better than you imagined.

Looking Ahead

I'm excited to integrate this Reiki Master energy into my daily life, continue working with it consistently, and see what doors open next.

This weekend has been beautiful.

I'm grateful for the people I've met, the connections I've made, and the opportunity to live in alignment with who I truly am.

Not everyone will be on the same frequency.

And that's okay.

I go to sleep every night knowing I'm living authentically and following what feels true for me.

That's enough.
